  • wife Hannah was present at the Railway Mission third anniversary celebrations in 1909

  • died 14 June 1917 aged 66
  • buried at St. Mark’s Church, Natland
  • gravestone inscribed “In loving memory of Richard Ellison who died June 14th 1917 aged 66. Also of Hannah his wife who died Sept 7th 1924 aged 72. In God’s keeping.”

  • Edmund Robinson Ellison (1880–1937) – draper’s buyer – married Annabella Smith (1881–1927) – had son John Richardson Ellison (1908–?) and another child who died in infancy
  • Sarah Isabel Ellison (1881–1944) – married Thomas Leather (1868–1948) – had one daughter Cicely Leather (1908–1992) who married John Francis Johnson (?–?)
